How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher?  (Romans 10:14)

The primary goal of TheMoreSureWord.com is to help you come to a place where you believe you can know and also understand the Bible for yourself. Biblical understanding comes by way of revelations of truth spoken to you by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, all repentant born again believers (those who have crucified the flesh and entered into the eternal covenant with Jesus Christ) have the Holy Spirit residing within them. There are no exceptions. So if you have made covenant with Jesus by sacrificing your entire spiritual being then you, too, have received the Holy Spirit. And He will lead you into all of the truth. Don’t take my word for it, it’s a promise directly from Jesus.

“But when He, the Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all the truth; for He will not speak on His own initiative, but whatever He hears, He will speak; and He will disclose to you what is to come.” (John 16:13)

All truth is not limited to extracting meaning from the passages and verses of the Bible. The words of the Bible are certainly the truth. But they are not all of the truth. It is impossible for the finite number of words in the Bible to tell all there is to know of our infinite God.

Receiving understanding is part of living in the Spirit. In order to sustain a life, or walk in the Spirit, you must be eating solid food. There are three sources for solid spiritual food. First, the printed words found in the Bible. Second are the revelations you receive from the Holy Spirit. And lastly, the teaching of teachers who explain the truth to you in in the hope of inspiring you to seek to understand on your own. And that is the primary goal of The More Sure Word.

It is a sad commentary that the spiritual food served to congregants in the vast majority of churches today is milk and not solid food. Babies are fed a diet of milk, but adults require nourishment from solid foods such as bread, vegetables, meat and fish. But what is solid food in regard to spiritual things? We find some answers in the book of Hebrews.

12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need again for someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God, and you have come to need milk and not solid food.

13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is not accustomed to the word of righteousness, for he is an infant.

14 But solid food is for the mature, who because of practice have their senses trained to discern good and evil. [Mature believers are capable of discerning good from evil because they receive words of Truth from the Holy Spirit.]

1 Therefore leaving the elementary teaching about the Christ, let us press on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

2 of instruction about washings and laying on of hands, and the resurrection of the dead and eternal judgment.

3 And this we will do, if God permits. (Hebrews 5:12-14, 6:1-3)

Hebrews 5:12-13 tells us that milk is representative of the elementary principles of the oracles of God. Verses 13 and 14 reveal that solid food is the word of righteousness. The ‘oracles of God’ and the ‘word of righteousness’ both refer to the Word of God, the Bible. So the elementary principles of the Bible are said to be milk. But TMSW’s mission is to point the way for you to receive solid food. We believe that means going beyond presenting the words printed on the pages of the Bible to showing you some of the meanings that are hidden behind the words. We do  this, not as a means of self elevation, but rather to spur you on to believing you can receive your own solid food.

The love of God is an example of an elementary principle of the Bible.

For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

We have come to know and have believed the love which God has for us. God is love, and the one who abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him. (1 John 4:16)

These verses tell us that God loves everyone in the world because He is love. Therefore, God loves you. That’s pretty easy for most people to digest, especially those who are born again. There are, however, elementary principles in addition to those stated above. The principles listed below even seem to be contrary to the above elementary principles. For example, God is also capable of things that are, in our way of thinking, contrary to love.

Just as it is written, “Jacob I loved, but Esau I hated.” (Romans 9:13)

“Behold, I Myself have created the smith who blows the fire of coals and brings out a weapon for its work; and I have created the destroyer to ruin.” (Isaiah 54:16)

“But if they will not listen, then I will uproot that nation, uproot and destroy it,” declares the Lord. (Jeremiah 12:17)

I will send the sword, the famine and the pestilence upon them until they are destroyed from the land which I gave to them and their forefathers.’ (Jeremiah 24:10)

Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that both good and ill go forth? (Lamentations 3:38)

And Jesus the Prince of Peace said the following:

34 Do not think that I came to  bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.

35 “For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against he mother-in-law;

36 and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. (Matthew 10:34-36)

Passages and verses such as these abound in the Bible. But the God of love does not align well with Him as a destroyer or with Jesus our Savior with a sword of discord. In fact, they seem to be contradictory. At least it seems that way to our normal understanding. Even with what seem like contradictions, the above statements are milk (elementary principles) taken from the words of the Bible. Solid food comes when you understand how these seeming contradictions are actually in harmony with each other as parts of the character and nature of God. Since they are all part of God’s nature, they must be in agreement because God is truth and there are no contradictions in the truth.

Solid food is not easily or quickly consumed. Hebrews 5:14 says that solid food is digested only with practice. The Greek word for practice in this verse is hexis (hex’-is — ἕξις). Thayer’s Greek Lexicon defines hexis as: a habit, whether of body or of mind; a power acquired by custom, practice, use. We all know that forming a new habit requires our special attention, diligence and most of all patience. And depending on the complexity of the habit being formed, a guide, teacher or mentor can be helpful and sometimes necessary.

The most crucial ingredient for seeing and understanding the solid food in the Bible is receiving insights (revelations) from the Holy Spirit. Teachers who share the solid food insights they have received from the Holy Spirit are not easily found because they are few in number. This is why TMSW’s Seminars & Sermons section contains only material from teachers from the past such as Milton Green, David Wilkerson and Art Katz. Addition material from other teachers will be added as the teachers and their materials are discovered. Your suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Be blessed in your walk with Christ,

FEATURING GREAT TEACHERS FROM THE PAST

So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.” — John 8:31-32
